In recent years, digital printmaking
has revolutionized the reproduction process for many artists. One of the
most popular methods of fine art reproduction is the Iris Giclee
(zhee-clay) print. Unlike a conventional collector print, a Giclee print
is generated from a digital file and is printed with archival ink onto
heavy watercolor paper (Somerset Velvet). This printing process offers the
highest degree of accuracy, and richness of color available through
reproduction. The superior quality of Giclee prints has allowed
them to be showcased in the finest of galleries and museums.
The Gnidziejko Gallery has recently issued this line of Giclee prints
featuring recent still lifes of Amy Gnidziejko. By working
alongside a printer, Amy has been able to control the results of the
print, making sure that they accurately depict color, depth and the
overall feeling of her work. The resulting print is an art form in itself
and gives buyers a reasonable alternative to buying an original painting.
